The Abiding CEO® | Kingdom Identity | Business Growth | Work-Life Balance for Christian Entrepreneurs

If you’re a Christian entrepreneur carrying the weight of business, family, and faith all at once, take a deep breath — you’re in the right place. Maybe you’ve found yourself Googling “How to trust God in business,” “How to hear God clearly,” or even “Business meeting with God,” hoping for direction. You want to scale your business without losing your peace, your family, or your connection with Jesus. And honestly? The overwhelm, the pressure, and the constant push to hustle are wearing you down.

Here’s the good news: you don’t have to build alone, and you don’t have to build exhausted.

This podcast is where faith and business finally come together in a way that feels natural, sustainable, and deeply aligned with God’s heart. Each episode helps you replace striving with surrender, confusion with clarity, and burnout with a rhythm of less hustle, more peace. You’ll learn how to integrate your faith into your business decisions, balance your roles without guilt, hear God clearly in your work, and grow in a way that keeps your soul — and your schedule — steady.

I’m Dr. Betsy — a therapist, entrepreneur, wife, mama, and woman who once believed overworking was the only way to succeed. I tried hustling my way to growth, DIY’ing everything, and sacrificing my weekends… until God invited me into a different way. A steadier way. Once I integrated the parts of me — my clinical training, my pastoral heart, and my identity as a daughter of God — everything aligned. Now I’m scaling with peace, protecting what matters most, and building a business that honors both my calling and my family.

If you’re longing to build it God’s way, strengthen your relationship with Him, grow your business with clarity, and feel secure in Christ and steady in business, this podcast was made for you.

Welcome to The Abiding CEO® — where we slow down enough to hear God, follow His lead, and build something that actually lasts.

Let’s get secure in Christ and steady in business.

Hustle often looks like ambition — but for many Christian entrepreneurs, it’s really about security.
In this episode of The Abiding CEO® Podcast, Dr. Betsy Mejias explores three common lies Christian entrepreneurs believe about hustle and how insecure attachment patterns quietly shape our leadership decisions.
You’ll learn how self-reliance, over-seeking approval, and pushing through seasons can lead to burnout, and how secure leadership restores clarity, discernment, and peace in business.
This episode invites you to move from urgency to trust and from striving to steadiness.
Because hustle doesn’t bring clarity. Being secure in Christ and steady in business does.Have a topic you want her to cover? Send your ideas to hello@theabidingceo.com.

You’ll discover why clarity doesn’t come from controlling money, but from calming fear and restoring trust in God — your secure base in business.
If cash flow, pricing, or financial decisions have been weighing on you, this conversation will help you pause, breathe, and ask a better question:

Have you ever wondered why you keep reacting the same way in business—especially under pressure—no matter how much you pray, plan, or try to “think positively”?
In this episode of The Abiding CEO®, Dr. Betsy explores a concept that quietly shapes how you lead, make decisions, trust God, and even make money: your internal working model.
While the term may sound clinical, the truth is deeply practical and deeply spiritual. Your internal working model is the lens through which you interpret God, yourself, others, work, and money—and most of us aren’t even aware it’s running in the background.
When this lens is shaped by fear or inconsistency, it can sabotage clarity, fuel hustle, and quietly cap your growth. When it’s reshaped through secure attachment to God, everything changes.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
What your internal working model is and how it forms early in life
How your nervous system learned patterns of safety or stress that still affect you today
Why these patterns show up most clearly when you’re under pressure
How your internal working model affects:
Trusting God
Decision-making
Leadership style
Pricing and income growth
Why hustle and anxiety often come from insecurity, not lack of faith
How secure attachment in Christ restores clarity, peace, and discernment
Why you can’t grow beyond what your nervous system believes is safe
What it means to lead from being loved, not to be loved
A gentle invitation to reflect:
How do you perceive God when things feel uncertain?
What have you learned—often unconsciously—about work, money, and worth?
Are you reacting out of fear or responding out of trust?
This episode isn’t about striving harder or fixing yourself. It’s about becoming aware of what’s shaping you—and allowing God to rewire what fear once taught you.
You don’t lead to be loved. You lead because you are loved.

Postpartum depression is often misunderstood and rarely discussed in faith spaces—especially among high-capacity Christian women. In this episode of The Abiding CEO®, Dr. Betsy is joined by therapist and author Theresa Thomas, LPC, who shares her powerful journey through postpartum psychosis and the grace that met her there.
Together, they unpack how postpartum depression impacts identity, clarity, and work-life balance, and why healing is not about hustling harder, but abiding deeper. This conversation offers biblical reassurance, clinical wisdom, and practical tools for women navigating motherhood, leadership, and mental health with faith.

Before the calendar turns, join Dr. Betsy for a gentle, yet powerful reflection designed to give you clarity, peace, and grounded direction for 2026.In this episode, Dr. Betsy shares a simple, effective four-part sentence framework she uses to align her heart with God's intentions:2025 was ________ for me.From that, I learned ________.As 2026 begins, my intent is ________.And in order to do that, I will ________.You'll hear her honest personal reflection, including the monumental lesson of 2025: learning to stop carrying everything alone and finding freedom in trusting God and others. Most importantly, discover the two non-negotiable boundaries Dr. Betsy is setting for 2026 to defeat the "tyranny of the urgent": boundaries around her calendar (to clearly define her roles) and boundaries around her laptop (to choose true presence over instant reaction).Stop chasing fleeting resolutions. Is your passion for business creating silent tension at home? You can't pursue a big vision alone and expect your marriage to thrive. The friction eventually shows up in your calendar, your finances, and your energy.
In this candid, highly practical episode, Dr. Betsy invites her husband, Jarvis Mejias, to share the real-life framework they use to ensure their business vision supports their family vision, not sabotages it.
You Will Discover:
The Habakkuk 2:2 Home System: How they literally "write the vision" across nine life categories (Spiritual, Marriage, Business, Finances) and put it on the fridge to create a visible, shared, and accountable plan.
From Critic to Running Mate: Jarvis shares honestly about his shift from questioning ambition ("When is it enough?") to linking arms, proving that unity is possible even when starting from different places.
The Spiritual Side of Stewardship: Learn to "Act Your Wage"—how to dream big and invest wisely without reckless spending, ensuring your faith guides your financial decisions.
Navigating the Non-Linear Path: Why God’s plan is rarely a simple A-to-B, and how to submit your written vision to Him so He can direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Stop choosing between your marriage and your mission. This episode is your guide to creating a joint vision that allows both your family and your business to flourish—together, in unity.

Are crushing business decisions keeping you awake? Stop hustling for answers!
Last week, we found peace through gratitude. Now, we dive into the core of Philippians 4:6–7 to uncover the source of true strategic clarity: Present your requests to God. For the Christian entrepreneur, the path out of anxiety isn't harder work—it's honest prayer.
In this powerful episode, Betsy reveals how this simple spiritual discipline directly impacted the most stressful parts of her business:
The Shocking Moment: Hear the candid story of how she almost lost her building because she didn't know her rights, and how a simple, desperate prayer led to the precise conversation that saved her space.
Beating the Odds: Learn the clear, whispered direction God gave when daunting small business failure statistics threatened to sink her heart.
Hiring Is Holy Work: Discover the key prayer filter that changed how she interviews, protecting her team culture and leading to discernment over speed.
You don't have to carry the weight of critical decisions alone. The peace that "surpasses all understanding" isn't random—it's promised to those who bring their requests to God. Listen now and anchor your business in His wisdom.

Feeling pulled between ambition and being present? As a Christian entrepreneur, the end-of-year pressure—from financial anxiety to chasing goals—can leave you feeling full and frayed.
In this episode, we pause the hustle to embrace gratitude as a profound spiritual discipline. Dr. Betsy breaks down Philippians 4:6–7, revealing God's simple antidote to anxiety: Prayer + Thanksgiving = Peace.
You'll hear the personal testimony of how gratitude anchored her heart through a massive, un-planned business expansion in 2025, and discover three powerful ways gratitude restores your entire being:
Spirit: Reorienting your worship back to God's faithfulness.
Soul: Renewing your mind, moving from scarcity to sufficiency and clarity.
Body: Lowering cortisol and shifting your nervous system out of fight-or-flight mode.
Stop striving for peace and start abiding in it. This episode is your call to choose thanksgiving and anchor your heart to the ultimate source of clarity and rest.

Dr. Betsy Mejias is back—and she’s returning with a powerful story of perseverance, transformation, and God-led clarity. After stepping away to complete her doctoral capstone, Dr. Betsy shares the intimate journey behind her new study, The Abiding CEO: A Study of the Impact of Attachment to God on Anxiety in Christian Entrepreneurs.
In this episode, Dr. Betsy opens up about the hard moments: the tears, the doubt, the frustration, and the countless revisions that pushed her to the edge. But she also reveals the deeper work God was doing—shaping her understanding of what it truly means to be a Christian entrepreneur who leads from a place of secure attachment to Him.
You’ll hear Dr. Betsy unpack:
Why Christian business owners often struggle with fear, anxiety, trust, and even the fear of success
How early attachment patterns shape the way we lead, love, delegate, and grow
What it looks like to embody God’s love, excellence, and presence in any industry—whether or not your business is “overtly Christian”
Why anxiety has become normalized for so many entrepreneurs, and how Scripture offers a different way
How spiritual disciplines, coping skills, and renewed thinking can support scaling with confidence rather than fear
Dr. Betsy also introduces her newly developed Bible study curriculum, created to help entrepreneurs deepen their attachment to God, lead from peace, and thrive in their purpose-driven work.
